Terms of Service

Last updated: June 26, 2026  ·  Questions: support@veraoffload.com

Who you're dealing with

VERA is an independent macOS application, operated by Wink Media Group LLC, an Ohio limited liability company. "VERA," "we," "us," and "our" in these terms mean Wink Media Group LLC. By purchasing or using VERA, you agree to these terms.

The license — what you get

One-time purchase ($39.99): You receive a perpetual, non-exclusive, worldwide license to install and use VERA on Macs you own or control, for personal or commercial productions. Once you buy it, it's yours as long as VERA exists. This one-time license does not expire.

Monthly subscription ($6.99/month): A recurring license that stays active while your subscription is current. Billing, renewal, and cancellation are handled by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. You can cancel anytime; when the subscription ends, VERA returns to its free state. Footage you have already copied is never affected.

Licenses are delivered via Lemon Squeezy license keys. One license is for one person — not a shared team seat.

What you can do

  • Use VERA on productions of any size, personal or commercial.
  • Copy footage from client shoots as part of your professional workflow.
  • Install VERA on your own Macs (reasonable personal use; not a lab deployment).

What you can't do

  • No reselling or redistributing VERA — the application, installer, or license key.
  • No reverse engineering or attempts to extract source code.
  • No sharing license keys — keys are personal and non-transferable.

The software — what it does and what we disclaim

VERA's core function is to copy your footage and verify every file byte-for-byte against the original. That's what it's built to do, and it does it rigorously. We stand behind that.

That said, no software can guarantee perfect operation in every environment. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, VERA is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind — express or implied — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted operation. This general disclaimer does not mean VERA skips its verification step; it means we can't warrant against hardware failures, macOS changes, or edge cases outside our control.

Always maintain your own backups. VERA is a tool that helps you verify those backups — it isn't a substitute for a sound backup strategy.

Note: The AS-IS clause above covers general software liability. It does not alter the fact that VERA's byte-for-byte verification is a core, designed function. If VERA tells you footage is verified, it ran the check. If something fails (e.g., a drive failing after verification), that's a hardware event, not a VERA failure.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to VERA is limited to the amount you paid for your license in the 12 months preceding the claim. In no event will we be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages — including loss of footage — even if advised of the possibility.

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability for certain claims; in those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Purchases and billing

All purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. By completing a purchase you also agree to Lemon Squeezy's terms of service. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

Updates and changes

We may update VERA and these terms over time. Material changes to the terms will be announced at veraoffload.com. Continued use after a change is posted constitutes acceptance. Minor updates (bug fixes, wording clarifications) take effect immediately.

How VERA was built

VERA's software was developed with the assistance of AI tools, including Claude (Anthropic).

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Ohio.
